Director's Bio

Okwuashi Theresa Ashiedu is a dedicated healthcare professional and community leader with extensive experience spanning nursing, midwifery, social work, and family health. Her educational background reflects an unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and service.

Her educational journey began at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), earning her Registered Nursing Certificate between 1987 and 1990, followed by a Registered Midwife Certificate from LUTH (1995–1996). She advanced her academic pursuits at Divine Healing Bible School International, obtaining a Diploma in Theology (1998), a Bachelor of Arts in Theology (2001), a Bachelor in Nursing Science, and a Master in Theology (2004).

Expanding into social work and family healthcare, she obtained an M.Sc in Social Work from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (2009), an M.Sc in Family Nursing from the University of Calabar (2012), a B.Sc in International Relations from ISFOP-Benin University (2014), and a Ph.D. in Family Nursing from the University of Calabar (2024).

Theresa holds a Fellowship (FCIS) with the Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria (where she serves as a Trustee) and has authored numerous research publications on Post-Abortion Care, Focused Antenatal Care, and Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives. Multilingual in English, Igbo, Yoruba, and Hausa, her mission is centered on advancing community health and empowering the less privileged.
